Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Black Hawk Elementary School, where we take pride in teamwork and learning! Black Hawk is located in Glendale Heights, Illinois. We service grades K-5 and our students represent a vibrant, ethnically diverse community. Our school mascot is the bulldog and our school colors are red and black.

Our staff is committed to increasing the number of educational activities, clubs, and extracurriculars for Black Hawk students so they can interact both academically and socially. Teachers use various instructional strategies and goal setting activities to support students as they work to achieve one year’s worth of academic growth.

In July 2013, I became principal at Black Hawk Elementary School. I started my career as a 4th grade teacher and taught in Cicero and Schaumburg for 12 years in both elementary and middle school settings. In 2009, I made the decision to leave the classroom and become an administrator in order to have the opportunity to work with teachers and the community in a larger capacity around curriculum changes and best practices. I began my administrative career in Marquardt School District 15 as an assistant principal at Marquardt Middle School.

Thank you for visiting Black Hawk's website. Please remember to check our website (www.blackhawk.d15.us) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bhelementaryschool) often to stay up-to-date on school events and curriculum.

Sincerely,

Kim Roberts, Principal
